Best known as a largemouth bass lake, tournament surveys rank high in average weight and fish caught per hour. Standing timber, submerged dams, roadbeds, creek channels and aquatic vegetation provide a great structure for bass. Due to the elevated water temperatures from the power plant, winter, spring and fall offer some of the best fishing.
Lake Fayette also offers good catfish fishing and the red ear (tiny perch) are known to exceed 8 inches on a regular basis. Red ear fishing is great for the kids!
