The Fayette County Reservoir was completed in 1978 as a 2400-acre cooling reservoir. Located 10 miles east of La Grange, it has two parks on the north end - Park Prairie and Oak Thicket Park. Best known as a large-mouth bass lake, tournament surveys rank high in average weight and fish caught per hour. Standing timber, submerged dams, roadbeds, creek channels and aquatic vegetation provide a great structure for bass.
